ArcelorMittal Gent lies on the right bank of the Gent-Terneuzen canal, at 20km from the city of Gent. It employs 5100 people and is therefore one of the largest private employers in the province of East Flanders.
ArcelorMittal Gent is a maritime and integrated steel company within the ArcelorMittal Group, the largest steel producer in the world. Each step of the production process takes place on the company premises, from the supply of raw materials to the coating of steel products and the production of laser-welded blanks. Every year, 5 million tonnes of flat carbon steel are shipped to automotive and non-automotive customers.
